Spring is in the air and we are pleased to announce that after a 4 year hiatus the hugely popular Bramshott Open Gardens event will return this June 11th and 12th.
‘BOG’ as it is affectionately known, is when the residents of Bramshott come together to offer a warm welcome to visitors, raising valuable funds for worthy local causes and the young people in our community. No garden is too small or too grand for our visitors! We cover the entire range from courtyards and patios to veggie patches to stunning show gardens with beautiful vistas and delightful ponds.
Over 70 residents volunteer over the weekend, and it is a highly organised event with 2 shuttle buses ferrying visitors around the village, 3 tea tents, a Tombola, Plant Sale, Art Gallery, Classic Car Display as well as all the beautiful gardens.
Having had to cancel our 2020 and 2021 events we are more excited than ever to be able to host this hugely popular event raising even more funds to support local causes all of whom have been hit by the events of the last few years.
We are proud that the proceeds from our 2018 event and the plant sales we held in 2020 and 2021 have enabled us to donate over £20,000 to local causes including Macmillan Cancer, Liphook Food Bank, Liphook Football Club (specifically to help children of families suffering financial hardship) and Liphook Scouts and Liphook Guides (to support their work in ensuring the greatest possible number of youngsters benefit from the facilities they offer).
Funds generated also support activities within Bramshott village including the renovation of the War Memorial at St Mary’s Church, a new kitchen area inside the church and the creation of a memorial bench carved from a fallen oak tree in the village triangle.
